Who says 13 is unlucky? Trinity Men’s Squash continues to dominate its field like Kim Jong’Il dominates North Korean elections. Not only have they won an unprecedented 13th straight national championship, but they have not lost one match in that time. The current Trinity players were not even ten years old when the streak started and now they are the ones carrying the torch. Many thought that this would be the year that Trinity’s streak would end because they were only beating teams 6-3 and not 9-0 according to Yale’s head coach (a match consists of 9 players playing best of five games to 11). Well, Trinity proved doubters wrong once again as they came back from deficits of 3-2 and 4-3 to beat Yale and win yet another championship. After the match Trinity legend/head coach Paul Assaiante said, “Oh, my God. It looked real bad there for a while, real bad. But this team never quits. They just never quit. We were down the whole match, but they never ever quit.” That is why Trinity has not lost in 13 years and why Ivy League nerds keep crying about not being able to win.
