This road trip has been so predictable and so like the Warriors. Two losses to teams we should have beaten like the Timberwolves and Pacers, and then two real close losses to the Celtics and the Sixers, both quality teams. Sorry Warrior fans, the season is officially over. Instead of recapping this game, I am going to give you three reasons why you should watch the Warriors the rest of the season.
1. Ekpe Udoh
12 minutes last night Keith Smart? WTF! The only way Udoh is going to get better is with game experience. Barring a miracle, the Warriors are not going to make the playoffs this year. The Warriors should be letting Udoh play major minutes. He will continue to grow through his mistakes and develop moves in the post. Smart, don’t do to Udoh what Nelson did to Anthony Randolph. Let the kid play.
2. Monta Ellis
When he’s on, it’s beautiful to watch. Last night he struggled mightily in the 1st half, and ended up with vintage Kobe shooting numbers at 11-27. However, his 4th quarter performance was magical. Andre Iguodala is one of the best defensive players in the league, and Monta was scoring over him at will. Do you realize how hard it is for Monta to shoot over his 6’7 frame? Crazy. The point is that you will be treated to exciting plays and fantastic acrobatic finishes from Monta, even if we are losing. Sure he might frustrate you at times with his shot selection, but at the end of the day, Monta’s going to entertain you.
3. Being Spoiler
As a Warrior fan, I know that the Warriors are going to win a bunch of games at the end of the season to tease us fans and get us excited for next season. It’s frustrating, but this year’s draft class is absolutely terrible, barring no need for us to intentionally lose games. There are a lot of great games left against quality opponents, and we are going to change the playoff picture even though we are not going to make it.
Monta and Steph working together
Will Biedrins ever be remotely good again
That’s all I got!
