Johnny Mrlik was the pinnacle of success this year for St. Ignatius. At 6’3, this left handed shooting guard led the WCAL in scoring with 17.6 points per game. He also shot 90 percent from the free throw line and has clearly shown a clutch factor in closing out games so far this season. The poor man Manu Ginobili, Mrlik’s crossover and pull up jumpers ed St. Ignatius to the CCS Division III semifinal game where they lost to Burlingame. Mrlik plans to take his game to Vassar next year and could be a significant contributor in leading Vassar in the Liberty League.
