If you want to be 756sports’ athlete of the week, then you need to pull a Greg Jennings and put the team on your back. This past week, Roy Lang did just that as he recorded consecutive hat tricks, including a game-winner in overtime against Ivy League foe, Penn. Roy has been a constant on 756sports the last few weeks for his great play, but in his last two contests, he brought his game to another level. The three goal outbursts were his first in his collegiate career and the overtime goal saved Cornell from a catastrophic 2nd half collapse. At the break, Cornell was cruising with a five goal lead, but they were outscored 6-3 in the third quarter and 4-2 in the fourth to send the game into overtime. Fortunately for the Big Red, Roy buried a feed from senior attackman David Lau into the back of the net, capping off his three goal day and preserving the Cornell victory.

Honorable Mention: Rob Emery- Once again he snipes two goals on national television and once again it is not quite good enough for Bay Area Athlete of the Week. His two scores in the second half were part of a big comeback that brought UVA all the way back from a 8-3 deficit. However, UVA could not quite finish the surge and were upset 12-11 by Johns Hopkins.
