The Giants pulled to a game over the .500 mark (8-7) with a 2-1 series victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Closer Brian Wilson held on for back-to-back saves (4 on the year) as the Giants won the first two games of the series on the road, 5-2 and 5-3. They ended up dropping the last game in extra innings, losing 6-5.

Positives:

1. Pablo Sandoval…the Panda keeps on hitting. He added two homers to his tally and currently batting .340 with 4 HRs and 10 RBIs. He only had three hits this series, but he made them count as two of them were HRs that drove in a total of 4 RBIs.

2. Buster Posey…Posey went 4-12 this series with two HRs and 4 RBIs. His batting average is now up to .296 with 3 HRs and a team leadig 11 RBIs.

3. Brian Wilson…4 consecutive saves has got to feel good for Wilson after a rocky start to the year. Looks like he is back and ready to rage…RIGHT NOW.

Concerns:

1. Madison Bumgarner…the young lefty continued his poor start last night giving up 4 runs in 6.2 innings. He is yet to show the control and power that looked so promising last season. With Zito hurting (and sucking), we need Bumgarner to snap out of this funk and get things going.

Tonight the Giants start a three-game road trip against the division leading Colorado Rockies. The Rockies have been on a tear so far this season with a 12-3 record. They are led by SS Troy Tulowitzki, who has 7 HRs and 14 RBIs on the year. Tonight’s game will feature Timmy “The Freak” Lincecum against young right-hander, Esmil Rogers, who is 2-0 on the year. Let’s hope Timmy can keep up his solid start and get us going in what should prove to be a good series early on in the season.
