The Rockies beat up on the Giants yesterday afternoon to take the last game of the series and avoid the sweep. Matt Cain pitched poorly giving up 9 hits and 6 runs in 4.2 innings. Troy Tulowitzki (3-5), Seth Smith (2-3, 2 RBIs)  and Ty Wigginton (1-4, 4 RBIs) led the way for the Rockies. Buster Posey drove in both of the runs for the Giants, going 2-3 and getting his average above the .300 mark.

The Giants (10-8) will be back in town tomorrow to take on the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. San Francisco plans on honoring Brooks Conrad and will hold his ring ceremony before Friday night’s game.

Madison Bumgarner, Timmy and Jonathan Sanchez are scheduled to make the starts as Barry Zito will miss out due to a foot injury. It is believed that Ryan Vogelsong will enter the rotation on the next go around if needed.
