Aaron Gordon stands at 6’6 and weighs 215 lbs. These measurables don’t serve him justice. With an incredible leaping ability and handles of a guard, Aaron has proven to be the most compelling and sought after Bay Area Prospect in years. If one follows Bay Area basketball, they would note his older brother, New Mexico’s power forward Drew Gordon who had his own highly acclaimed prep career at Archbishop Mitty. However, Aaron has the potential to go far and beyond what his brother has accomplished at the collegiate level.
This past season Gordon averaged 18.1 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game and came up big during the state final. He had 17 points and tied a state Division II championship-game record with 21 rebounds in a 53-50 win over Summit-Fontana. Unlike his brother who couldn’t bring home a state championship, Aaron did it in only his Sophomore season. Currently Gordon is ESPN’s No. 8 recruit nationally from the Class of 2013 and was the first ever Sophomore to win Chronicle’s Player of the Year. Don’t believe the hype?
