Francisco Liriano threw a no-hitter last night in a 1-0 victory for his Minnesota Twins over division rival, the Chicago White Sox. The 27-year-old lefty was 1-4 with a 9.13 ERA going into the night. Liriano could have been pitching to save his spot in the Twins rotation, but I don’t think he has to worry about it now. He walked six, struck out two and pitched 123 pitches on his way to his first career no-hitter and the first one of the 2011 season.
The best part of this story is that THIS GUY dropped him from his fantasy team six hours before his start.
Congrats to Liriano for pitching a no-no, now let’s hope those a Giants pitcher can throw one this season.
