Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 today and are now 1 point away from sealing their record-breaking 19th league title.  United only needs to take one point in their final two games to lift the EPL trophy again. Today’s match was the biggest one of the season as they took on second place Chelsea who needed the victory to step above the Red Devils at the top of the premier league’s table. Instead, the Blues allowed Man U to take a one goal lead 35 seconds into the match on a goal from Mexican sensation, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. Their lead was doubled when defender, Nemanja Vidic, headed in a cross from Ryan Giggs to put them up 2-0. Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard got one back in the second half for the Blues but it was not enough as they lost 2-1 and fell six points behind from United.

With the league trophy all but sealed for United, the team can begin to look forward and prepare itself for their Champions League Final matchup with FC Barcelona on Saturday, May 28th. Check back here for more coverage as we move closer to the late May showdown at Wembley.
